Backtime

Terms of use

Backtime is a shooting-schedule planning tool operated by KOTI Tech Ltd. By signing in you agree to these terms, whether you use it as a production owner, editor or viewer.

Your account

  • Your account is personal — keep your password to yourself and tell your production owner immediately if you think someone else has access.
  • Production owners control who joins their workspace and what role they get, and can remove access at any time.
  • We may suspend accounts that threaten the security or integrity of the platform.

Your content, your responsibility

  • Everything a production enters — schedules, names, units, notes — belongs to and is the sole responsibility of that production.
  • The production warrants it has the right to enter any personal data it adds, and is the data controller for it (see the privacy notice).
  • Schedules are usually production-confidential. Treat everything you see in Backtime accordingly — your own production's agreements and NDAs continue to apply in full.
  • Don't attempt to bypass access controls, probe security, or access another production's data.

A planning aid — not advice

Backtime's checks, flags, overtime figures and suggested shuffles are planning aids only. They are not legal advice, payroll calculation, or a substitute for the production's own compliance with working-time regulations, union and guild agreements, contracts, or its duty of care to cast and crew. The production makes every scheduling decision and is solely responsible for its consequences. Rule defaults are editable — it is the production's job to set them to match its own obligations.

Availability

The platform is provided as-is and as-available, without warranty of any kind. Features may change or be withdrawn. We aim for it to always be up, but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service — keep your own copies of anything critical (every day exports to Excel and CSV for exactly this reason), and never rely on Backtime as the only channel for safety-critical information.

Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, KOTI accepts no liability for losses arising from use of, reliance on, or inability to use the platform — including scheduling errors, missed calls, overtime costs, breaks not taken, data entered by a production, or decisions made on the strength of any figure or flag shown in the app. In all cases our total liability is capped at the fees the production paid for the platform in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded (such as for fraud, or death or personal injury caused by negligence).

The legal bits

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. If any part turns out to be unenforceable, the rest still stands. We may update these terms; meaningful changes will be dated below and flagged in the app.
